February 29, 2008 - Microsoft Sharepoint Portal
We have deployed a new technology, Microsoft SharePoint 2007 portal, in our administrative network. The portal automatically opens when you first login and can be re-open through a browser and typing: plan.elac.edu.

Think of this technology as a collaborative place where data can be shared in multiple formats (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, plain text, calendars, etc).).

The offices that can post to the administrative portal Campus Updates and Administrative Calendar sites, at this time, include the President and Vice President Offices.

In the Committees and sub-committees, the committee co-chairs and members can post and share information in various formats.

The Information Technology Department encourages you to explore this new technology and find ways that it can improve your technology experience and in turn provide a better service to our students. We strongly believe that portal technology is playing a major role in the information age – now and in years to come.

If your office, department, and/or committee needs assistance in the use of the administrative portal, we’ll be happy to setup time to assist you in getting started. Setup a time with Kyle Tran at X8700.
