The Writing Center tutors encounter not only students' grammatical questions on a daily basis but also their questions about the Writing Center in general.
Here is a list of students' most frequently asked questions:
How do I schedule an appointment?
Students can either call the main campus at (323) 415-4147, email at elacwritingcenter@hotmail.com, or request an appointment at front desk in the Writing Center located in E1-126. For South Gate, students stop by at the desk in the Student Center, Room 104 to make an appointment.
Is the Writing Center open on Saturdays?
This Fall 2007 the Writing Center is open on Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Are you open on holidays?
If the campus is closed for any reason (holidays, breaks, evacuations), the Writing Center is closed as well.
Can I request a certain tutor?
At the Writing Center , we know that sometimes students prefer a particular tutor over another. It is our policy, however, that students cannot request a tutor. If there is a personal issue between tutor and tutee, then of course that student may request another tutor.
Can I use the computer to type my paper without seeing a tutor?
During hours of operation, students are welcome to use the Writing Center 's computer lab to type papers, conduct research, or print documents for any class.
